HARBINGER
Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, ON Canada
18 October 2025 - 1 February, 2026.
Curated by Darryn Doull
HARBINGER is a site-specific, immersive installation that centers on the alteration of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery's existing gallery floor. Colliding modes of excavation and construction, her work examines histories of sacrifice and utopic hope which emerge from the near-universal ritual of throwing coins into fountains and wells to make a wish. The installation confronts coin-wishing as a subtle yet illicit expression of post-capitalist desire, explored through a tactile and temporal alteration of public space.
